주제: 나이 든 웨이터는 노인이 밤새도록 술을 마시며 카페에서 편히 쉬는 모습이 좋았다. 깨끗하고 밝은 카페라서 더욱더 머물렀으면 싶은데 새벽 3시다. 전등 위에 있는 먼지를 본다. 깨끗하고 밝은 카페를 꿈꾸느라 뒤척이다 아침 녘에야 잠이 든다.

In 1933, Ernest Hemingway wrote the short story entitled "The Clean, Well-lighted Place," which mainly illustrates the older waiter trying to empathize and be considerate for the old man who has everything but feels despair and the young waiter who disagrees with the old man and in a hurry to live his lives without even considering others. The paper maintains a confrontation between two waiters over a café where the older adult tries to stay. According to the Macmillan Dictionary, the word "despair" refers to "the feeling that a situation is so bad that nothing you can do will change it" (Macmillan Dictionary.com).
